"You feel your journey must continue until you have found redemption for these failures?" "Nope, not anymore," he says quickly. "Not if I'm dead." Oma steps closer to him. "Exactly true." He frowns, confused. He doesn't look at her. "You said I was the only one qualified to judge myself. So no matter how much I want to achieve enlightenment or whatever you wanna call it, what happens if I look at my life and I don't honestly believe I deserve it?" He turns and looks her in the eye. She smiles at him. "The success or failure of your deeds does not add up to the sum of your life." He looks away. "Your spirit cannot be weighed. Judge yourself by the intention of your actions and by the strength in which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way." "What if I can't?" he asks, still not looking at her. "The people closest to you have been trying to tell you that you have made a difference. That you did change things for the better." "Not enough." "The universe is vast, and we are so small. There is really only one thing we can ever truly control." "What's that?" he asks absently. "Whether we are good...or evil." He turns to look at her finally. I won't do a full bio here because.. well.. this is my journal, so that would be kind of redundant. I will tell you that I am single. Whether I am looking or not is dependant on how much you inspire me. I've been in enough relationships to be a little tired, but enjoyed them enough to want to get into another one... if its good enough. I will also tell you that if you are local to Vernon and are awesome (and/or a dork, these may be interchangeable, unless you're a freaky uber-involved LARPer who likes to bring canons to game, because that is non-awesome), I'm looking for local awesomeness of the non-frat-party-like genus. Stereotypical people need not apply. You won't find 'normal' is a good word to describe me. I can even show credentials for that claim now. ------------ Stuff in my head that I don't think most people have in theirs: -I choose to plan on not having kids later in life. -I choose to plan on not being married later in life. -I embrace the impermanence of relationships, letting them come and go naturally, and believe that this is the way it should be. -I do not believe in either monogamy or polygamy. I do not believe in relationship monotony. -I am either very religious, very against dogma, or very spiritual, depending on your definitions. -I don't enjoy intercourse, but I do enjoy hours of foreplay. -I consider myself an anarchist in ideology, followed by direct democrat, and then democrat, in increasing measures of practical applicability to current reality. -I have arguably been in tune with objectivity to such an extreme that it can sometimes be unhealthy. -I find it difficult to straight out spread mistruths. This makes the fourth precept easier for me, and makes it difficult to imagine a person who casually spouts falsehoods on a regular basis, yet remains functional. -I have been known to consciously and intentionally make decisions that most make unconsciously and without intention. -I have consciously constructed my personality more than having developed it by natural means. -I voluntarily began studying calculus in 2007 in order to understand Quantum Physics from a mathematical perspective because I'm not sure I agree with the interpretations of formulas which I do believe are accurate (or close to accurate), all of which being the direct result of my continuing attempt to write a science fiction novel. -I tend to learn the most from intense, brief periods of tangents.
